These videos demonstrate how to install the GenTent Direct Connect Kit, GenTent Universal Kit, and GenTent XL Universal Kit on open frame portable generators.
Follow each video in the recommended order to complete your initial installation. The series covers clamp attachment, frame rod setup, canopy installation, and apron connection, with best practices and part-specific guidance throughout.

Assemble your Clamp Hardware.
Set Your Clamp Rod Position.
Install Your GenTent Clamps.
Install your GenTent Frame Rods.
Install the GenTent Canopy and Electrical Apron.
Some generators may require a frame adaptation to install GenTent properly. This includes models with:
- Muffler heat shields attached to the frame
- Crossbars or panels blocking clamp access
- Smaller frames between 76–80″ (standard) or 106–111″ (XL)
Adapt Your Frame. Universal Frame Adapter (GTU) Installation.
Some DuroMax models feature inset electric panels or blocked corners that require slight clamp positioning adjustments:
- Mount the clamp slightly higher where the panel is recessed
- Continue with the standard installation after clamp setup
