GenTent Legacy Models Open Frame Installation Videos

Step by Step Instructions for Installing Legacy GenTent Products on Open Frame Generators

GenTent legacy injection molded clamp system

These legacy installations follow a different setup process than current Universal Clamp systems, which use reinforced steel clamps for improved fitment and performance. The installation videos cover GenTent legacy systems using injection molded clamps, including Direct Connect, Universal Adapter, 4U, 1U, BGC, Ridgid kits, and early partner systems like the Champion 100376, Westinghouse wGenTent, and Cummins open frame generator model.

Legacy GenTent installation videos for older generator tent systems using plastic clamps and rubber sleeves. Current Universal Clamp systems use steel clamps and updated installation methods for improved weather performance and compatibility.

Watch Updated Steel Clamp Instructions

If your GenTent kit uses the upgraded steel clamp system, or if you have a DuroMax branded open frame model using current hardware, follow the current open frame installation instructions instead of these legacy injection molded clamp videos.

Follow the videos in order for your first-time setup: clamp attachment, frame rod assembly, canopy installation, and apron connection.

Clamp It. Frame It. Cover It.

Please note: This is the legacy GenTent open frame installation video page. Some visuals may show older GenTent parts, packaging, clamp styles, or terminology. If you recently purchased a GenTent system, confirm whether your kit uses legacy injection molded clamps or the newer steel clamp system.

Does your generator have a blocked or obstructed frame?
Some generators may require a frame adaptation to install GenTent properly. This includes models with:
  • Muffler heat shields attached to the frame
  • Crossbars or panels blocking clamp access
  • Smaller frames between 76–80″ (standard) or 106–111″ (XL)
Refer to our Block Frame Addendum for guidance on how to adjust your setup.
