GenTent FAQ – Choose the Right Model & Use It Safely
The Direct Connect Kit clamps directly to four round vertical frame posts on open-frame generators. The Universal Kit includes frame adapters, making it ideal for square or obstructed posts, smaller frames, or generators with built-in panels or shielding.
The Inverter Kit fits fully enclosed inverter generators with perimeters between 40″–120″. The XL Inverter Kit fits larger fully encased generators with perimeters from 104″ to 140″ and supports models up to approximately 17,500 W.

Yes. All GenTent models are independently lab-tested to handle harsh weather including heavy rain, snow (up to 18"), and winds up to 70 mph. They are made from NFPA-701 rated flame-retardant vinyl. Learn more in our Weather Resistance Article.
No. All GenTent canopies include a refueling flap on top (under the logo). You must shut off and allow your generator to cool before refueling. See full refueling instructions here.
In these cases, install the angle braces higher on the exhaust side to create a tilt. This adjustment helps preserve airflow under the canopy edge and keeps your generator protected. See our Inverter Install Tips.
