GenTent® products and our business are dedicated to prioritizing consumer safety and advocating for it.

GenTent's primary goal is safe generator use. We provide awareness and education to help you use your generator without the danger of poisoning or weather damage.

Our team strives to provide a safe product solution and continued support, so you can keep your home protected.

As a leading manufacturer of generator tents and the first associate member of the Portable Generator Manufacturers' Association (PGMA), GenTent has played a crucial role in promoting and emphasizing critical safety messaging in recent years. Our CEO and Founder, Mark Carpenter, has actively proposed various measures to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), PGMA, House Oversight Committee, and New Hampshire Congressional Representatives. These proposals aim to immediately enhance generator safety, regardless of the voluntary adoption of carbon monoxide sensors.

In February 2022, the CPSC staff presented their findings on the effectiveness of carbon monoxide mitigation requirements in the industry's two voluntary standards, PGMA G300 and UL 2201. This led to the CPSC's issuance of the 2023 Supplemental Notice Proposed Rulemaking (SNPR).

GenTent has submitted public comments on the CPSC's proposed rulemaking and testified at the public hearing. If desired, you can request a copy of our white paper proposal and the supportive consumer response data below; as well as watch the hearing in full.
